Church – New Construction

A new student chapel building for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Catholic Newman Center located near the heart of the campus. This new facility provides a space for worship and an ample gathering space which also functions as an informal student lounge with a small kitchen, meeting rooms, and offices.  The main chapel portion of the project, which is part of a Phase II, was designed collaboratively with the staff and students, while carefully observing the wisdom provided in the U.S. Catholic bishops’ document, Built of Living Stones and other relevant liturgical references.

The site plan envisions a Phase II portion which will incorporate an intimate “prayer garden” using storm run-off from the roof to support a rain garden a demonstration of “sustainability” to students and visitors.
