Multiple Projects (Department Stores, Distribution Centers and Corporate Offices) – Nationwide

Schroeder & Holt Architects has been working with the Kohl’s Corporation since Max Kohl developed the first arched grocery store in 1966.  During the past 44 years we have helped Kohl’s to grow into a National leader in the retail industry.  Our initial involvement in Kohl’s Grocery Stores expanded into the development of Department Stores.  As the two divisions separated, and the grocery stores were sold we focused our efforts on the Department Stores.

Through the years we have worked on department stores across the country, including: additions, takeovers, new stores and remodels.  As a site adapt architect, we are constantly being challenged to deliver a prototypical store wherever Kohl’s builds.  Whether it is working with a prototypical store to meet local design ordinances or an adaptive re-use of an existing building we are successful in blending a corporate image with local flavor.

As a valued partner to Kohl’s we have also worked on other corporate projects including their photo studio, fashion studio, corporate offices and distribution centers.   We are proud to have helped them grow from a few stores in Wisconsin to over 1,000 stores from coast to coast.
