Multiple Projects (New theatres, additions and remodels) – Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin

Schroeder and Holt Architects has been working with Marcus Theatres for over 35 years.  Over that span we have witnessed the industry change from single screen movie houses to multiplex entertainment complexes.  We have guided Marcus to the forefront of the industry with these innovations.  We understand that with the choices available for todays movie patrons with HDTV, DVDs and BlueRay; customers want more than just a large screen to watch a movie; they want an evening out to remember.

With each new theatre we incorporate the latest cinema trends from digital surround sound and plush, clear view, stadium seating in the auditoriums to theatres with cafes, party rooms, restaurants and cocktail lounges to provide a multipurpose destination that will have customers not only talking about the movie but where they saw it.

We have completed various projects for Marcus including lobby and stadium seat remodels, additions and new theatres, culminating with Marcus’ flagship cinema the “Majestic” in Brookfield, WI.  This Cinema has become an entertainment destination.  This cinema features 16 screens; including two 72 foot wide screens, a pizza café, ice cream parlor and a cocktail lounge.
