Roundy’s Supermarkets, Inc.

Multiple Stores – Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin

Schroeder & Holt Architects is pleased to enjoy a close relationship with Roundy’s Supermarkets, Inc., a major grocery retailing enterprise with stores located through Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois. We began working with Roundy’s in 2006.  Since then we have worked with Roundy’s planning department to develop new stores, remodel existing stores, and a number of store additions, meeting tight commercial deadlines, satisfying demanding local regulatory officials, and helping them save several hundred thousand dollars in construction costs.

In addition to our work on new stores and remodels in the upper Midwest, we stepped in to review and reorganize Roundy’s project development and constructions standards, to improve the delivery process and reduce change orders.  We have also worked with Roundy’s to enhance their Metro Market brand stores.  This store type was developed in 2004, to focus on fresh foods, and specialty services such as in store cafés and an expanded deli with ready to serve items.  Roundy’s continues to expand this brand to other markets and we have helped develop a unique identity for the shopper.  A relationship of trust continues to grow in our work with Roundy’s, enabling them to delight customers with exciting store designs, streamline construction schedules, and to improve the quality of construction while continuing to reduce costs.
