Park Place Senior Living provides housing for seniors in a quiet neighborhood setting overlooking a local park in Platteville. Among the many amenities provided is a central community lounge. The existing lounge is located near the front entrance and at the central hub of activity, but it was not a space residents used frequently. The facility operator looked to us for ideas to program the space and update the interior finishes and furnishings. Our team provided two different concepts to meet the client’s aesthetic and budget.
Both schemes created a new, welcoming central entrance into the space. We also updated the look of the existing fireplace with a new tile surround and wood mantel. Wood crown molding was added to provide warmth and richness throughout the space. Activity tables with wood slat canopies provided an area for residents to play games, assemble puzzles, and listen to music. Shelving and cabinetry were provided throughout the space to store music, games, books, and décor. Smaller seating areas are provided throughout the space to bring down the scale of the room, allow for more flexibility, and create opportunities for residents to socialize and gather with family and friends.
